1. How can I learn about my retirement options?
You can do a Web search, or start with our series of introductory essays on this website, which will be supplemented periodically.
2. Is SchoolPensions.com beholden to any one company?
We are independent brokers of tax-shelter and insurance products, appointed by many companies of our own choosing. We are not "captive agents" who must make just one company's limited list of products seem to fit your situation.
3. Do you charge for your time or services?
The companies we set up to help our clients pay us, and obviously we cannot be paid twice for our services! We never assess clients any charges or fees.
4. How do I arrange to meet with SchoolPensions.com?
Just leave your information on our website contact page. We will call you within a few days and arrange to meet you at your workplace or home.
5. Will I be "sold" something when we meet?
The meeting is for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. There are cases where a client's needs are easily assessed and understood by the client, but typically the first meeting is purely educational.
6. Can I use your services if I live far away?
Devorah Steinberg works from Palo Alto, California. David Altschuler works from Los Angeles. Potential clients beyond driving distance of those two cities can usually work with us via phone, fax, "snail" mail, and email.
